The President issues instructions to popularise the immediate use of organic fertilizer to minimise threats to public health by the use of chemical fertilizer.
The Committee monitoring the encouragement of local food production met at Temple Trees yesterday under President Rajapaksas patronage. The need to take to organic fertilizer, uring a stipulated price for agricultural production was stressed. It was deliberated that priority should be given for the use of organic fertilizer in the launch of projects to revive agricultural production in the North. Ministers Maithripala Sirisena and Susil Premajayanth, Senior Presidential Advisor and Parliamentarian Basil Rajapaksa and Presidents Secretary Lalith Weeratunga were present at this meeting.
